Every Day Use

This story was not as good as I thought it would be. Alice Walker is a very talented writer but I did not enjoy this story very much. I found Dee one of the main characters to be very rude and disrespectful to her mother. Dee’s action during her visited was dissembled to say the least. That is until she wanted all of her mother’s most prized items. Instead of being grateful for all that her mother has done she comes back after 6 years and completely be little her mother and sister. Maggie her sister who I think was a powerful character in the story was very shy and inhibited. After the house fire that brunt a lot of her skin she became very ashamed of her self. At the end of the story Mama was no longer in deference and stood up for her self.

Malcolm X (prison studies)

This excerpt from Malcolm X’s autobiography was unephemeral. I will remember it for the rest of my life. His thirst for learning is very inspiring, moving. It takes a very strong person to change their lives the way that he did. While in prison, instead of letting his state empower him, he used the opportunity to burgeon himself. I hope that I will get the chance to read this book in its entirety because I think it will be enlighten. Malcolm X should be an inspiration to all young men. Showing them that it does not matter where you start out that you can always change. Malcolm X was a great advocate for the civil rights movement, and unfortunately was killed for making a difference. Malcolm X was a very savant person and has truly helped make the world I live in a better place. I have nothing but venerate towards him.

Bring The Noise

T.I.P aka T.I aka The Rubber Band Man is one of my Favorite southern rapper. He started is one of the founders of the hole trap music era, and help make it what it is today. I believe that every thing he raps about he has done. I’m not saying that I would agree with a lot of his actions, but I do like the fact that he is raping about his past times and not someone else life. His is one of the biggest names in hip hop today, and he has basically funded his entire career with his own money. Even when his first single dropped from his debut album I’m Serious he was still paying club to allow him to perform. From I’m Serious to T.I vs. T.I.P he has done nothing but increase in sales. His next album Paper trail is inspected to be his greatest yet. I do not think that will be true because I think his best album ever to be I’m Serious. I think T.I.P is also very guileless. From watching him speak both in person and on TV interviews, I think he keeps it real. Another reason why I like T.I.P is because he is very remorseful of some of things he has done in the past. He has given back to his community thru out reach programs and the King foundation. He also does many school assembles were he encourages students to stay in school unlike him and to be all that they can be. And finally perhaps the biggest reason why I like him so much is because of his wonderful lyrical abilities. T.I.P lyrics are very different from other raps. His voice, style and his vocabulary sets him apart from all others.



Young Dro has only had one album released Best Thang Smokin. This was a great start. The main thing I like about Dro besides the fact his a member of PSC his is lyrical abilities besides Wu Than Clan and T.I.P I have never heard another rhyme a hole verse until I heard Young Dro. He has done this on many of his songs both on the album and underground. His word choice is very extra ordinary and ingenuous. Like T.I.P, Dro is very cocky, which is a good thing in the music business. I think that there are many other great rappers but these two are my favorites. I believe T.I.P and Dro to be indelible in the music game and will be around for years to come.

Watching this video made me feel conflagrated inside! I wanted to get up and go vote at that very moment which is what the purpose of the video is. Watching all those stars and people with power come out and support Obama was breath taking. I aver that Barak should be and will be the next president of the US. I believe Bush to be a craven who runs from the black communities when the need help the most. Kyane West said it wonderfully when he said " President Bush hates black people." I do not agree with those words completely but it is not far from the truth. This video will be remembered for all time. Will I AM is a wonderful rapper/singer and a great advocate. This video was an inspiration to and should be to every one that watches it.

My name is Jessica, but most people call me Essi. I'm an education major and plan on teaching high students. I'm sometime inhibited and shy, but very silly once you get to know me. I like to set high goals for myself and emulate to achive them every chance I get. My ultimte goal is to change the world one day and make a difference in the lives of many.
